There has been some fun days paddling in the last week. But we have had to be selective when we have gone out. Typical of this time of the year. With fickle wind conditions prevailing. We have seen the sun for four days in a row which seems like a record.
A great morning to go paddling High tide was just after 7 so out you go now before the tide drops too much. Light winds with freshening southerlies today. The surf is still rather sizey with 4-6 feet on the Points and offshores. Only for the experenced.
Had an exellent paddle this morning on an out going tide and a very light southerly. The sun is shining and its a great time of the day to paddle. See you on the harbour if you can.
Strong westerlies and massive seas. The exposed coast is out of control with 8-10 foot of onshore messiness. The Whaingaroa harbour is ok for a down wind paddle. Its windy as but not enough south in the wind. High tide this arvo around 5. Real hard to find somewhere sheltered today.
It is another windy day today on the Whaingaroa harbour. Not good for beginers but it is shaping up to be another day for down wind paddling. High tide 1.45 this afternoon. We will be heading out again today for another blast. Richard came with me yesterday for his first blast on the harbour when […]
Few days of sunny paddling has put smiles on our faces. Today it is windy and not quite so pleasant. Strong gusty west to southwest winds. Means just one thing, after the high tide at 1pm its off for a down winder from the harbour entrance back to The Shed.
