If you haven’t tried paddle boarding before , then grab a voucher  for you and a friend, or bring the whole family. If you know how to paddle board, grab a voucher come and see us we can take exploring on the Raglan Harbour.

The lessons are fully supervised by  our qualified instructors Keith, Daniel and Brendon. The Paddle Board Shed junior instructors love taking younger paddlers out and showing them what fun the water can be.

Hopefully we will see you this summer.

Grab One 2021

January15

Happy New Year everybody !

Our Grab One promotions have been selling well as New Zealanders explore their own home country. we have had some fantastic days on the water with great conditions.

Due to the weather conditions and the stronger afternoon sea breezes this summer we have been doing a lot more morning paddling on the morning high tides.   So if you are thinking of coming paddling, consider morning sessions when we have morning high tides. We definitely get the best conditions in the morning with light or no breeze at all, and combining that with a high tide creates great paddling conditions.

So text me or call me on 022 6239626 and we can sort a time out for you paddle boarding session.

Cheers Keith

New Board

September18

We have added a board to the fleet aimed right at larger people who want to learn to paddle board. Lets not muck around here if you are a big person you need a big board to start off with. The board in the pic below is designed for beginners with a wide stable platform, with the thickness carry on to the tail and nose of the board to give great support. No wet feet and no tipping

Whaingaroa Wildlife

Last Wednesday an Orca  mother and calf used a dropping tide to make their way to the bar andcontinue thier Journey. After a wholesome feed of Sting Rays hopefully. Whaingaroa Harbour is a well known spot to stop for a top up, from what I have observed over a number of years.

Fantastic Friday

August31

Wow what a start to the 2019/2020 season. Friday dawned with no wind and a rising tide heading towards a huge high at 9.45am.  No chance of launching out the front at Rose bay with the work going on with the new seawall.

So it was off to Aro aro park or Pururiri as known locally. Met with Jim, Jess and Stephen at the park in radiant winter sunshine and the bay full as boot with the 3.5 meter tide.

Happy New Year

January2

Happy New Year , lets go paddling. Well hopefully ! We had some great days for paddling towards the end of 2017. Yesterday first day of 2018 was OK to paddle even if it was grey and drizzly. Today looks similar but hopefully without the rain.

Kiwi Christmas

The mornings have been best with strong seabreezes most afternoons, making it hard to find somewhere sheltered from the wind. Still if you make the effort and get up early for a paddle you will be rewarded.

Paddling at Raglan West to escape the wind

Glassey mornings and low tide days

December12

Early morning glass with high tides making paddling look exellent for the early risers. The only bummer is the tide is out most of the day.

High tide is 6.15am this morning and 10 to 7 this evening.

Expecting seabreezes developing and windy conditions in the afternoon.

Forecast for summer is looking warm

November2

Hey did you hear the NIWA forecast for the weather coming up till Christmas ? The good news is it is supposed to be a couple of degrees warmer than what their expected average was. Yippeee I reckon, northeast winds forecast which means we have to change our  paddling  routes a little, and have to use the tides a little more to help us get around.

Below is a shot of my favourite surf come paddle board wagon parked across the road, context of shot  is paddle boarder in the background.

Looking for a deal this summer

Starting to improve, slowly though

October24

Managed to get two great paddles in last week, couldnt believe my luck. No wind  and high tide.

Not so lucky late yesterday arvo, glassey but low tide. Still and what a great word to use, we are heading towards better weather.

If you are looking at going paddling this summer, make sure you dont miss out on our Grab One and Treat Me deals. Great savings to be had and they voucher makes a great present. Plenty of time to use them as thye have a 3 month window of use.

Im off for a messy wind effected surf, catch you later on this week.

Spring ?

Wow how windy was that ?

October4

Just when we though we would get a little break in the weather it goes crazy again. The water has started to warm up and with the west to northwest winds forecast we should see that trend continue. Not a lot of wind today but, we all know that will change as its the windy time of year for here. In saying that though we have been able to sneak a couple of nice paddles in.

A break in the weather

September19

Wow how wet has it been ? Today is a beautiful sunny day and a great day to paddle. High tide was ten minutes ago at 9.40 this morning.

Nice day finally

Lets hope we get a couple more days in.
